I was awaiting new proposals from designers Colombian Cali under Exposhow, one of the most important fashion events in Colombia, where talent and creativity of great designers like Silvia Tcherassi Colombians and new designers that already impact is, as in the case of Elizabeth Caviedes.
The Cali Exposhow started with designer Silvia Tcherassi. In his collection of historical and literary heritage of Colombia they came together on a catwalk where two intersecting points and lead the viewer to the most exquisite walk along one of the most violent periods in the nation, wrapped in the magical realism of who has been one of the best writers of our country Gabriel García Márquez with his work: Hundred Years of Solitude. It is the dramatic contrast of violence with the magic of Macondo. Very well played.
Within the context of this collection it is not relevant to talk about trends, which undoubtedly they were present: boleros, the yellow, destructured shirts etc.. The most important thing is the narrative, the story that each garment; especially in white shirt on a back saying "Down with the United Fruit", because that phrase is feeling and thinking of an entire people and its strong attachment to the value of justice. Fashion is definitely linked to a feeling, that lets you project what you are.
It is also refreshing to see proposals for new designers like Isabel Caviedes, this young Caleña presented "Raices" an impeccable collection made in own handmade fabrics in the region of Valle. Each of the looks on the catwalk wearing a unique touch centered on the quality of the textures, handloom fabrics and prints. This coupled with the femininity of the clothes make this collection a commercial success.
