The United States Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced the four personalities who will receive honorary awards which will be presented this year in November.
Angelina Jolie to Receive Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award, because the actress fulfilled several missions as a special envoy of the UN for refugees, It has also supported various programs that protect women and children. Other winners of the humanitarian award include personalities such as Oprah Winfrey, Elizabeth Taylor y Jerry Lewis.
To receive honorary statuettes this year Angela Lansbury, Steve Martin and designer Piero Tosi for their professional achievements. The honorary award is an Oscar with which recognition is exalted for a lifetime of work in acting, great contributions to film arts and sciences or great service to academia.
This will be the second Oscar for Angelina Jolie although for humanitarian reasons The actress also won the Oscar for best supporting actress in 1999 por Girl Interrupted. The awards will be held on 16 of November.
